It is important for language and affects developmental learning, communicating, working, health and quality of life.

We should learn not to take our eyes for granted but to care for them by eating foods and fruits that contain nutrients like Omega-3, fatty acids, lutein, Zinc and Vitamin C and E such as green leafy vegetables, salmon and other oily fish, eggs, nuts, beans, oranges and other citrus fruits. We can also care for our eyes by avoiding smoking, wearing sunglasses, using safety eyewear and visiting your eye doctor regularly.

Eye defects has many effects to human, imagine not being able to read books, cross the streets and many other things. One would need to be dependent on other people for help and it might become very inconvenient. The effect of eye defect include sore eyes, sudden heaviness of the eyes, watery eyes and may even result to total loss of vision.

As years passed by scientists did research on the solutions to eye defects and most of their solutions include proper intake of food and healthy food habits, wearing sunglasses and most importantly visiting an optometrist regularly. Optometrists are trained professional who examine eyes, test sight, give advice on visual problems and prescribe or dispense glasses or contact lenses.

Only by ourselves, our desires and our attempt towards healthy living can we take care of our eyes. We protect our eyes and use them ourselves. No one is responsible for them but us because other people don’t use our eyes for us neither are they going to responsible for our bad reaction towards good eye care. Human beings need to take charge of their body because indeed, their eyes are in their hands.
